Thank you cards

As part of my Consulting Business, I run into a lot of people who are notaries and are also real estate agents, loan officers or insurance agents.

Often times they become notaries as a way to add value to their clients, not realizing what a great opportunity they have to introduce their notary clients to their existing profession.


Now although I send thank you cards to grow my notary business (I send escrow and loan officers thank you cards with brownies once a month if they gave me work that month), I also feel it's a great way to attract and acquire new clients to your existing business.

I'm going to give you some advice that will show you how to leverage the fact that you're a notary.

This is advice that I usually give my clients who pay me $300 for a one hour consultation, however, I'm going to give it to you today at no cost.


I'm going to use myself as an example. 3 years ago I decided to get into the Medicare insurance business helping people choose a Medicare plan.

When I meet with a client that is about to turn 65, here is what I did. Once the appointment is over, I pull out my Medicare insurance business card and hand it to them as I am walking out of their home and this is what I say;


“Although I know you're too young for this (I give them a compliment), please know that I'm also a Medicare insurance agent, in case you know of anyone that may need my help”

Now, one of two things will usually happen.

Some people will immediately start asking me questions about Medicare. Again, remember, I focus on people who were about to turn 65 within the next two years so they are ideal prospects.

The second and most common thing that will happen is that they will graciously accept my business card and thank me, saying nothing more. luckily, this is just the beginning of this marketing follow-up system.

Once I got into my car or to my office, I go to SendOutCards to send them a thank you card.
